Supervisor - Hydrogeology

Vancouver, BC; Calgary, AB; Saskatoon, SK; Toronto, ON; Remote - Regular-Full Time

As the Supervisor - Hydrogeology, this role will be responsible for providing technical input/services in their area of expertise and directing the collection, management, and interpretation of hydrogeological data for remediation, reclamation, or resource development projects. This role also acts as a supervisor who oversees day-to-day delivery of work of junior team members.

About the Role

  • Provide hydrogeological technical input to projects throughout Ensero.
  • Technical communications of groundwater data including data analysis and report writing.
  • Study design and implementation of groundwater programs to support contaminant transport assessments, groundwater impacts assessments and remedial planning.
  • Integrate groundwater inputs into geochemical and water balance models.
  • Organize and perform fieldwork on hydrogeological field programs including; groundwater sampling, supervision of borehole drilling and monitoring well installation, tracer studies, pumping tests, and packer tests.
  • Ability to operate and maintain specialized field testing and monitoring equipment.
  • Development of groundwater conceptual models.
  • Factual and interpretive reporting of field data and site conditions.
  • Responsible for implementation of data quality processes for hydrogeology projects, including appropriate data management, review and storage.
  • Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals.
  • Interface with clients and regulators to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support decision-making
  • Contributes to business development through proposal support, identification of client needs and project estimating
  • Interface with other technical experts to achieve multidisciplinary project goals
  • Mentor and provide technical training to junior team members
  • Lead training efforts and onboarding for new team members
  • Track current and near-term resourcing within the hydrogeology group in co-ordination with the Hydrogeology Lead, Director of Geoscience and Project Managers

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in related science (geology, chemistry, environmental science or engineering).
  • Post-graduate degree in Geoscience or Engineering, with a focus on Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of previous experience working in consulting or mining industry, with demonstrable academic or job experience in hydrogeologic data collection and analysis.
  • Previous experience leading technical projects and teams
  • Willingness to travel and participate in field programs in remote locations throughout BC and Yukon.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members as well as lead independent projects
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels


$120,000 - $160,000 a year
