Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $95,000.00 - $158,400.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 10 % or $ , based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

Position Details

The Supervisor, Contract Specialists, leads a team responsible for customer contract operations and supports the consistent and compliant administration of Grainger's sell-side agreements. The role provides day-to-day operational leadership and applies contract knowledge and Grainger policies and procedures to make independent tactical decisions on defined matters. This role supports effective contract lifecycle management while promoting accuracy, operational efficiency, service quality, and appropriate management of contractual risk. The role partners with Legal and business stakeholders to support business needs, consistent contract practices, and an effective customer contract experience. This is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in office at the Lake Forest, IL or Chicago, IL offices.

You Will
  • Supervise day-to-day team member activities and the Customer Contract departmental process, including assignment, queue prioritization, capacity planning, coverage, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Set clear performance expectations; coach, train, develop, and provide timely feedback to team members; support onboarding and continual cross-training to build capability and coverage.
  • Monitor team goals and operating metrics for accuracy, cycle time, service levels, productivity, training, and service experience; use data and trends to identify and implement corrective actions and provide operational coverage as needed to meet service commitments.
  • Apply contract knowledge and established policies to review and approve work, make independent tactical decisions and ensure accurate contract documentation, business terms, required approvals, and agreement records are accurate and escalate non-standard, high-risk, or out-of-policy matters to Legal or appropriate leaders.
  • Oversee contract drafting, review, approval, activation, lifecycle maintenance, and customer rebate and incentive administration across Grainger contract templates, customer-generated contracts, amendments, renewals, rebate and incentive agreements, Data License Agreements, and other assigned agreements.
  • Partner with Grainger's Legal Department on custom agreements and non-standard language; ensure matters are routed, documented, and escalated based on policy and risk.
  • Support or lead well-defined process improvements related to contracting and proposals by identifying operational pain points, analyzing workflow and performance data, and implementing actions that improve efficiency, reduce risk, increase standardization, and enhance service experience.

You Have
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years' experience in contracting, contract operations, compliance, legal operations, or related experience with working knowledge of legal terms and conditions required.
  • 1+ years' experience in leading employees, projects, workflows, training, or process execution preferred.
  • Experience with contract processes, sales and legal policies, contract terms and conditions, and standard operating procedures needed to review, route, document, and maintain contracts.
  • Experience supervising day-to-day employee activities or a departmental process, including allocating work, managing competing priorities, driving accountability, providing coaching and feedback, and maintaining service levels in a high-volume operational environment.
  • Experience making independent tactical decisions on defined matters, applying documented guidelines, and escalate strategic or higher-risk issues based on policy, risk, or scope.
  • Experience organizing work, communicate clearly in written and verbal formats, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage time-sensitive deliverables with attention to accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience analyzing workflow or performance data, identify operational issues, troubleshoot process gaps, collaborate with stakeholders, and support continuous-improvement actions.
  • Experience working in SAP & Icertis to support contract-related processes and records.
