Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Supervising Habilitation Counselor - IFSS Middlesex for the Community Based Service within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Supervising Habilitation Counselor position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision to the identified program staff and direct services and supports to individuals and families served.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Supervises staff as assigned by supervisor.
- Provides case management and community support services to assist individuals and/or families to gain access to needed medical, social, education, mental health, addiction, co-occurring and other services.
- Monitors that all documentation is done within prescribed time frames and in accordance with UBHC policy, and specific program, funding and billing requirements.
- Performs duties relevant to a leadership position and supports goals and objectives of University Behavioral Health Care.
- Meets annual requirements.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Master's Degree in a mental health or a human services field plus one (1) year of related experience or Bachelor's Degree in a mental health or a human services field plus three (3) years of related experience.
Certifications/Licenses - All clinical licensing as required by discipline and New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
- Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and personal vehicle for use to outreach individuals served.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPreferred Qualifications - Experience with community based service provision to adults with mental health and substance use diagnosis.
- LCADC.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) speaking.
Equipment UtilizedPhysical Demands and Work Environment - Ability to speak clearly and write proficiently.
- Hearing is essential.
- The ability to focus on the task at hand despite numerous interruptions.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and document into an electronic medical record.
- The employee spends much time driving, walking, standing, bending and talking with individuals served in the community located throughout the state.
- Occasional transport of individuals served in University vehicles.
- The employee can expect to lift up to 20 pounds.
- The work environment includes clinic and community-based services and outreach.
- Subject to unpredictable situations and crises, to include behavioral, medical and psychiatric.
- Occasionally exposed to individuals exhibiting assaultive behaviors.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment.
