SUPERINTENDENT

This position is responsible for delivering a functionally and financially successful large-scale, highly technical project safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will lead all field operations with a primary focus on safety, schedule, quality, cost control, and client satisfaction-consistently exceeding expectations.

This role requires strong leadership, technical awareness, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks, including recognizing design aspects that may lead to disputes or claims and providing recommendations to the Designer of Record.In this role, you will...
  • Lead field operations on large-scale projects ($50M-$100M+), including highly technical and specialized facilities
  • Provide regular updates to project management regarding progress, risks, and critical issues
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and Ross Group field personnel to successfully mobilize and execute project work
  • Manage and coordinate all subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Maintain and drive the project schedule by determining appropriate resources, sequencing, and activity durations
  • Develop and manage three-week look-ahead schedules and long-lead procurement tracking
  • Identify and communicate schedule impacts, including events outside of Ross Group's control
  • Monitor cost performance and support the management of changes to the cost baseline
  • Oversee quality assurance/quality control processes, ensuring adherence to project specifications and continuous improvement
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a zero-incident jobsite culture
  • Provide leadership and direction to field staff, including Project Engineers and Foremen, with a focus on critical path execution
  • Support accurate invoicing, material tracking, and timely procurement of equipment
  • Manage project closeout, including final inspections, documentation, and turnover requirements

  • Have 7-15+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager, with a proven ability to lead large, complex projects
  • Have successfully delivered projects in the $50M+ range, preferably including highly technical or specialized facilities
  • Experience with mission-critical, industrial, or highly technical projects (e.g., test cell facilities, manufacturing, data centers, or similar environments) is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of achieving safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Excel at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Effectively lead and develop field staff through coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Are comfortable leading meetings and presenting to project teams and clients
  • Are willing and able to travel or relocate to project sites, typically throughout the South and Midwest
  • Are flexible with work hours, averaging 50+ hours per week as project demands require
