Position SummaryZachry Underground & Utility Services is seeking a Superintendent who will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing field operations on underground utility construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, and owners to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
The Superintendent plays a critical role in managing field personnel, coordinating equipment and materials, monitoring production, enforcing safety requirements, maintaining quality standards, and driving successful execution of water, sewer, drainage, and utility infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do- Lead daily field operations for underground utility construction projects
- Supervise Foremen, craft personnel, subcontractors, and equipment resources
- Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and production activities
- Monitor project schedules and adjust field operations to meet project milestones
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and field inspections
- Review plans, specifications, and utility drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Coordinate with inspectors, owners, subcontractors, and project management teams
- Monitor production, quality, and project progress to achieve project goals
- Assist with project planning, work sequencing, and problem resolution
- Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation
- Mentor and develop Foremen and field personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For- 7+ years of underground utility construction experience with increasing leadership responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience supervising crews on water, sewer, drainage, or utility infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of excavation, trench safety, shoring systems, utility installation, and utility construction methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, trench safety requirements, and industry best practices
- Experience managing schedules, production goals, subcontractors, and equipment resources
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with project teams, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Proficiency with daily reporting, production tracking, and project documentation
- Ability to operate tablets and mobile construction software applications
- Dependable, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Must be capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company vehicle as required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites
