Lake County School Board

Minimum Training and Experience
  • Education: Master's degree or higher required, from an accredited institution
  • Certificate/License: Educational Leadership
  • District-Level Administrative Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible district-level administrative experience in a Florida public school district, including at least five (5) years in a district-based administrative or policymaking position with broad authority for management policies and general district operations. Qualifying experience includes service as a Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Associate Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Director of a major instructional or noninstructional functional area that reports directly to the Superintendent and supervises other administrative personnel, consistent with Section 1012.01(3)(a) and (b), Florida Statutes.
  • Demonstrated record of advancing student achievement and academic performance through consistent, measurable annual growth in student learning, as reflected in state accountability ratings and state progress monitoring data.

  • Letter of Intent: A tailored cover letter addressed to the School Board highlighting your educational philosophy and why you fit the district's goals. No more than three (3) pages.
  • Resume: No more than two (2) pages.
  • Letters of Recommendation: No more than three (3) signed letters.
