Superintendent -The
Superintendent is responsible for leading all aspects of large and complex projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company and customer requirements. This role oversees field operations, project personnel, financial performance, customer relationships, quality control, and process improvements while serving as the primary operational liaison between the company and the customer.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee large-scale project execution from planning through completion.
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and manage project staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
- Manage project profitability, budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor staffing levels, workload distribution, and project schedules.
- Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for project operations.
- Conduct site walks, quality inspections, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Review invoices, job costs, change orders, and project documentation for accuracy.
- Ensure timely completion of project paperwork, closeout packages, and reporting.
- Lead operational meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee tools, equipment, truck inventory, and maintenance.
- Drive process improvements across estimating, purchasing, scheduling, warehousing, and reporting functions.
Ideal Candidate Background- Extensive experience managing large construction, low-voltage, telecommunications, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership experience supervising field teams, superintendents, and project personnel.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, productivity, and customer expectations.
- Experience with safety programs, quality control, and operational process improvement.
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to read plans, oversee installations, resolve technical issues, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications
Physical Requirements- Ability to travel throughout branch and regional territories as needed.
- Capable of working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods on large construction sites.
- Ability to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years' experience of supervisory or managerial experience.
- The General Superintendent must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- The General Superintendent must also have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
- Must be proficient with a computer and be skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- The General Superintendent Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, create an estimate, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
- Must be able to use the following trade Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.
