Construction Superintendent - Federal / Commercial / Industrial

$100,000-$130,000 annually + Sign on Bonus
Seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join an established construction contractor supporting federal/military, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout New York.
This is a hands-on field leadership position for someone who is comfortable independently managing jobsite operations, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining schedules, and taking projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
Projects range from approximately $100K to $7M and include a mix of ground-up construction, renovations, and infrastructure work, with project durations ranging from six months to two years.
What You'll Do
- Oversee day-to-day field operations for federal/military, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects.
- Manage projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, schedules, materials, and site activities.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with applicable building codes and project requirements.
- Work directly with project ownership and internal project teams to resolve field issues and keep projects moving.
- Assist with project numbers, estimates, costs, and overall project planning.
- Manage approximately 2-3 projects depending on project size and complexity.
- Maintain strong communication with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
- Travel to project sites throughout New York with occasional out-of-state travel as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of field construction experience required.
- Strong experience with ground-up commercial buildings and/or infrastructure projects.
- Previous Superintendent, General Superintendent, Construction Superintendent, or similar field leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and applicable building codes.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Comfortable working with project costs, numbers, and estimates.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using computers and construction-related software.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 required.
- Stable employment history strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus but not required for candidates with strong hands-on experience.
- Experience with Sage Timberline, Primavera, and/or Bluebeam is helpful.
- Previous federal or military construction experience is highly desirable.
