About the PositionThe Commercial Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations from project start through completion. This individual will lead on-site construction activities, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure projects are completed with the highest level of quality, on time, and within budget.
Projects may include:
- K-12 and higher education facilities
- Retail developments
- Office buildings
- Commercial tenant improvements
- Municipal and public facilities
- Other commercial construction projects
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day jobsite operations for commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules while driving milestone completion.
- Conduct daily jobsite meetings and coordinate workflow among all trades.
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets project specifications.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays.
- Coordinate inspections with local jurisdictions and project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and project documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, architects, and owners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster positive relationships with clients while maintaining a professional jobsite environment.
Requirements- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
- Experience leading projects in one or more of the following sectors:
- Education
- Retail
- Office
- Commercial renovations
- Ground-up commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of commercial building methods, scheduling, sequencing, and quality control.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
