Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for large-scale commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors and trade partners, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a proven field leader with strong commercial construction experience and the ability to drive projects from mobilization through completion. General contractor experience is strongly preferred, particularly for candidates who have managed complex projects with multiple trades and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
  • Lead daily field operations for commercial and multifamily construction projects from mobilization through final closeout
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, suppliers, inspectors, and other jobsite personnel
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to meet key milestones and completion dates
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively address manpower, scheduling, quality, and coordination issues
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and quality control throughout all phases of construction
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documents to identify and resolve field conflicts
  • Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate sequencing, logistics, project priorities, and schedule requirements
  • Lead regular jobsite and subcontractor meetings to communicate schedule updates, safety expectations, and project priorities
  • Identify potential field issues early and implement practical solutions to minimize delays and maintain production
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, site documentation, and other required project records
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and project team members
  • Coordinate inspections, punch-list activities, turnover, and final closeout
  • Ensure field activities remain aligned with project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality expectations

Requirements
  • 7+ years of commercial construction Superintendent or field leadership experience
  • Proven experience overseeing large-scale commercial and/or multifamily construction projects
  • General contractor experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and jobsite safety
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to keep projects moving forward
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and coordination skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades in an active construction environment
  • Local Memphis-area candidates preferred
  • Must successfully complete professional reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening
