Subrogation & Recovery Department - Associate

Responsibilities:
  • Represent corporate clients in Federal and State Courts, handling civil actions against individuals and entities causing real property damage, personal property damage, and business losses to our clients.
  • Collaborate with a variety of forensic experts to investigate and evaluate the legal and financial viability of different causes of action in both single and multi-party litigation.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare for, attend, and present at court hearings.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Try both bench and jury trials.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials demonstrating strong legal aptitude.
  • Admission to the Florida bar is required.
  • Minimum of five years of litigation experience, preferably prosecuting and/or defending product defect claims, property damage claims, construction issues, or property insurance claims.
  • Experience working with various forensic experts (e.g., fire origin and cause, mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, chemical; material, human factors, accounting, and standard of care) is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and presenting oral arguments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
