Job Summary - Nursing Supervisor Oncology

2380 N i-35E Waxahachie 75165 - Oncology

Schedule is: Full time, weekdays. M-F, 8a-4:30p

Your role as Nursing Supervisor involves supervising healthcare professionals and ensuring high patient care levels. Maintain a safe environment and nurture nursing practice to improve patient outcomes. Oversee operations, productivity, and resource distribution to meet department priorities.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Working closely with members from different professional fields to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • This leadership position is responsible for supervising clinical operations across two outpatient Cancer Centers while partnering closely with the Oncology Nurse Manager to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to mentor staff, manage daily operations, resolve clinical issues, and foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and ancillary departments. The candidate should be comfortable leading change, supporting quality and regulatory initiatives, maintaining staffing and workflow efficiency, and promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and exceptional patient experience
  • Assessing how effective the nursing practices are and infusing practices and research discoveries that are evidence-based.
  • Fostering a caring and outcome-promoting environment.
  • Encouraging development and opening up growth opportunities for staff members.
  • Efficiently managing resources to promote safety within the healthcare system.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree
  • MAJOR - Nursing
  • EXPERIENCE - Five years of Experience as RN
  • Leadership experience required
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
  • OCN Certification preferred, or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -Registered Nurse (RN) valid in Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
