Full Job Description
This is a remote position. You will primarily be working from home and at customer sites. A relocation package may be offered for the right candidate.

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $121,000-$145,000 annually plus bi-annual Profit Sharing. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate, along with the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Apply process valve and actuation expertise to evaluate and improve customer operations and processes.
  • Pursue and win business for Caltrol employing a team selling approach.
  • Present and demonstrate Isolation and Actuation products and solutions to customers.
  • Establish and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key customer decision makers, including maintenance, production, operations, plant engineering, management, and purchasing personnel.
  • Manage and strengthen supplier relationships, including facilitating joint sales calls, training, and projects.
  • Work with inside sales and operations team(s) to meet customer expectations for "non-standard" products and/or applications.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance to the sales team on key opportunities and projects.
  • Coordinate with Account Managers' efforts to expand Caltrol's presence at new and existing accounts.
  • Participate with industry groups and in vendor events, coordinating messaging for the I & A business unit and products.


What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in sales
  • Ability to establish and maintain value-based customer relationships
  • Ability to handle special assignments and schedule demanding workload requirements to meet customer deadlines
  • Knowledge of ball valve, control valve, valve repair, butterfly valve, process valve, valve assembly, electric actuators, valve automation, pneumatic actuators, etc.
  • Understanding and experience with Caltrol's key industries, including refining, mining, power, food/beverage, water, and HVAC


Preferred:

  • Four-year engineering degree preferred or significant relevant sales or industry experience.
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for acquiring technical and mechanical knowledge and expertise.
  • General process control knowledge, including experience with process valves and actuation, instrumentation, and control systems

Work Environment/Schedule:

This job is performed primarily at home and at customer sites. When at home, the employee is responsible for setting the work environment to their needs. When on customer sites, the environments will vary. Sites can be loud, may be warm in summer or cold in winter, and may include both indoor and outdoor sites. Customer sites will require the use of Personal Protection Equipment, which will vary, but at a minimum will include safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses (Provided by Caltrol).

Physical Demands:

Work is performed mostly in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods of sitting. A standing desk may be available if requested. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle and/or fly to customer sites within the Caltrol territory. While on site, employee may need to climb or bend, and may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Travel:

70% of the job involves travel; most travel will occur within Northern California, or the larger Caltrol territory (CA, AZ, NV), including Bakersfield and the California Central Valley. Travel will require some overnight stays.
