TITLE: STUDENT FACILITATOR

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or a minimum of 60 college credits required; Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or community setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required.

Reports to: Building Principal and/or Designee

Job Goal: The Student Facilitator supports the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth of students by helping to create a positive, supportive, and engaging school environment. The Student Facilitator works collaboratively with administrators, counselors, teachers, families, and community partners to strengthen student engagement, improve school climate, and assist students in developing positive decision-making and interpersonal skills.

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Build positive relationships with students and serve as a supportive adult mentor.
  • Assist with monitoring and supporting student behavior throughout the school day.
  • Facilitate restorative conversations, conflict resolution, and problem-solving strategies to support positive student behavior.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and supportive school environment.
  • Assist with attendance monitoring, student outreach, and intervention strategies to improve student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism.
  • Assist in implementing programs and activities that promote positive school climate and culture.
  • Collect and maintain data related to student attendance, behavior, and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with counselors, administrators, teachers, and support staff to address student needs.
  • Support students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, transitions, and other non-instructional times.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development activities as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support activities.
  • Assist with family outreach and communication efforts when appropriate.
  • Help coordinate student leadership, mentoring, and peer support opportunities.
  • Promote respect, responsibility, and positive decision-making among students.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time - 10 Months

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with state law and provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified staff.

Salary: Following the established BBEA Salary Guide ranging from $61,825 to $105,620. Stipend opportunities.
