Project Overview:Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline and area. Supervises direct hire Craft Professional activities, potential subcontractors, and others, as assigned. Ensuring assigned construction operations and discipline specific performance are following safety standards, specifications, within schedule time frames, and on budget. Performs general functions inherent in all Craft Professional supervisory field positions.#LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:- Provides daily directions to Craft Professionals.
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates and responsible for tools, material and equipment needed to achieve safe, efficient, and quality installation.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by your area and disciple.
- Monitors work installation activities and ensure the quality of work performed.
- Ensures that the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
- Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
- Coordinates activities with other disciplines and/or areas as instructed by construction management to ensure project schedules are maintained.
- Perform employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for Craft Professionals.
- Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Experience working with Direct Hire workforce.
- Prior experience building complex, large structural projects.
- Prior experience managing Union craft erecting structural steel.
- In-depth knowledge of cranes and rigging pertaining to structural steel.
- Full knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subpart R - Steel Erection
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Preferred computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (time keeping, schedule development, drawing & specification database)
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
- Previous experience working with subcontractors and responsibilities contained in subcontract documents (preferred).
