Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. seeks Project Engineer in Boston, MA to coordinate design work with architects and engineers, providing input and guidance to structural drafting personnel. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience: developing structural framing systems and details for construction documents; developing structural analysis models using Etabs, and RAM; designing and detailing structural framing systems and members for concrete-framed buildings; coordinating structural designs to comply with relevant building codes and with other building disciplines; managing construction administration, including delegating and reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, addressing contractor queries related to field issues, and coordinating design changes with the architect and contractor; finalizing field reports, including writing summaries of field observations and adding relevant photographs with descriptions and action items as required; preparing structural drawings in compliance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC codes and standards. In the alternative, the business will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in one of the above listed areas and three (3) years of experience performing the above listed skills. Professional Engineering License (P.E.) required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $98,000 - $113,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Massachusetts Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Massachusetts applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Massachusetts or perform the position from Massachusetts. Similar positions located outside of Massachusetts will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Massachusetts Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
