Full Job Description
Structural Inspector

Department: Construction/CEI

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Tempe, AZ

Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000 / year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual, able to meet challenging time constraints and work independently and as part of a team
  • Review project plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project
  • Provide onsite construction inspection for projects located throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area
  • Coordinate in the field with the project Owners, Contractors and 3rd-party material testing agencies
  • Communicate effectively with Structural Engineering staff who supervise work in progress
  • Prepare Daily reports to document construction progress, changes and as-built conditions


Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in the Construction Industry as a Structural Inspector, Field Engineer, or similar
  • Knowledge of construction means & methods and quality control measures, along with knowledge and experience in water/wastewater construction is a plus
  • Experience with construction Submittals, Shop Drawings, and RFI coordination
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software capabilities
  • Minimum one ICC Certification (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel and Bolting, and Structural Welding) and willingness to obtain others within one year
  • OSHA 30-hour training
  • Requires a valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar is a plus, but not required
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (or ability to obtain within one year), with demonstrated experience inspecting structural steel fabrication, and welding procedures is a plus.
