Full Job Description
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of high-performance precast structural systems for complex, mission-critical projects. Working within an integrated project team, this role applies advanced structural engineering expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to develop safe, efficient, and innovative solutions. The Structural Engineer contributes across multiple projects, supporting design, coordination, and execution from concept through completion.

Competitive Compensation Range: $130,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience. This role is fully onsite at our West Sacramento, CA location. We will assist with relocation assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
  • Design and analyze full precast structural systems, including prestressed floors, beams, walls, columns, slabs, and stairs.
  • Perform structural calculations, develop engineering details, and support preparation of drawings and submittals.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable building codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of lateral design for concrete systems to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure constructability and project success.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects, managing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in technical problem-solving, identifying risks and developing practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Interface with external stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including design optimization and innovation in precast systems.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive structural engineering design experience.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the State of California, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete and structural systems, including lateral force-resisting systems.
  • Experience with precast and prestressed concrete design preferred.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, RAM, ETABS, or similar.
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards including CBC, IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CAD and/or BIM experience (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
