Overview

Schneider Electric's rapidly growing Modular Data Center business is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Technical Leaders, Design Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure structural integrity, compliance, and constructability of modular systems. You will support the design and validation of enclosures, skids, pods, platforms, racks, and integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural design and analysis, including load calculations, stress evaluation, deflection, and connection design
  • Conduct static and dynamic simulations using FEA to assess stress, vibration, and stability
  • Validate designs from internal teams and external vendors for compliance with codes and project requirements
  • Ensure compliance with IBC, seismic standards, and Schneider Electric design guidelines
  • Define deformation criteria and structural interfaces, including tolerances and sealing strategies
  • Support modular manufacturing, transport, lifting, and installation strategies
  • Develop drawings, documentation, and Bill of Materials
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve cost efficiency and manufacturability
  • Participate in customer meetings, RFIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide onsite and production support as needed (up to 15% travel)

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 5+ years of structural design experience in modular construction, industrial buildings, or data centers
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency in structural analysis tools and familiarity with BIM/modeling software
  • Strong technical problem-solving and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing or prefabricated construction environments
  • Knowledge of panelized systems (e.g., IMP, curtain wall) and building envelope design
  • Familiarity with tools such as Revit, Robot Structural Analysis, Dlubal, Creo, or Advance Steel
  • Experience with data center infrastructure and emerging technologies

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
