Build the Future With Us
Step into a role where your expertise helps shape the future of industrial and mining facilities across Ontario and beyond. As a Structural Engineer with our Resources team in Sudbury, you'll contribute to major new builds, rehabilitation programs, and infrastructure supporting Canada's mining and industrial sectors. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary specialists, mentor emerging designers, and help elevate our growing provincial practice.

Our Resources subsector, a key component of WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. Over the decades, we have developed a wide range of services, including economic studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, commissioning and industrial programming. This division provides a full range of services to industrial and mining projects, including all services offered in the field of engineering from conceptual and feasibility studies to complete detailed engineering in EPCM, to the closure and dismantling of mine sites. Our experts work together to offer our clients services that live up to our vision: to meet the highest standards in the industry and innovate to exceed them.

Your Impact
  • Design structural systems for mining and industrial facilities that advance safety, reliability, and long-term operational success.
  • Deliver detailed engineering packages-from conceptual design through stamped IFC deliverables-that enable clients to move swiftly from planning to execution.
  • Coordinate and integrate design requirements with mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct structural assessments and site investigations to guide retrofit, remediation, or rehabilitation strategies.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports, calculations, and construction specifications that support regulatory compliance and client decision-making.
  • Provide design leadership and guidance to junior engineers and designers, contributing to quality reviews and continuous improvement.
  • Engage directly with clients through site meetings, field reviews, and collaborative problem-solving that strengthens relationships and trust.
  • Support cost-efficient, technically robust solutions that reflect WSP's commitment to innovation and excellence.

  • You bring a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience designing concrete and steel structures for Canadian industrial facilities.
  • And with experience in the Sudbury market.
  • You excel in applying Canadian Codes and Standards, ensuring designs are compliant, resilient, and safe.
  • You are proficient with structural analysis tools such as S-Frame, STAAD.Pro, or SAP2000, using them to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • You are comfortable performing field reviews, site investigations, and structural condition assessments in active industrial settings.
  • You thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments and carry a mindset of innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning.
