About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer IV to lead the design, analysis, and execution of structural engineering deliverables for power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage system (BESS), substation, transmission, and industrial infrastructure projects. This senior-level engineering role is responsible for independently managing complex structural engineering assignments, providing technical leadership, and ensuring the successful delivery of safe, efficient, and constructible designs throughout all phases of EPC project execution.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial and utility infrastructure design, advanced structural analysis capabilities, and a proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts while mentoring junior engineers and designers.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

Structural Design & Analysis

  • Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for power generation, renewable energy, BESS, transmission, substation, and industrial facilities.
  • Develop engineering solutions for:
    • Structural steel buildings and support structures
    • Equipment foundations
    • Pipe racks and utility structures
    • Equipment platforms and access systems
    • Cable tray support systems
    • Transmission and utility support structures
    • Reinforced concrete foundations
    • Industrial buildings and enclosuresPerform advanced structural analyses for gravity, wind, seismic, thermal, blast, transportation, and equipment loading conditions.• Develop and review structural calculations, engineering reports, design criteria, and technical specifications.• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, client requirements, constructability considerations, and project objectives.

Project Execution

  • Lead structural engineering activities from conceptual studies through detailed engineering, procurement support, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and review construction drawings, specifications, material take-offs, and engineering deliverables.
  • Manage structural engineering scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverable progress for assigned projects.
  • Support project planning, estimating, and execution strategy development.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective engineering solutions.

Technical Leadership & Coordination

  • Serve as the lead structural engineer on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate structural engineering deliverables with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction teams.
  • Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and interdisciplinary engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, hazard reviews, and client meetings.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Support development and implementation of structural engineering standards and best practices.

Construction & Field Support

  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and structural assessments.
  • Provide construction support by responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing field changes, and resolving structural issues.
  • Evaluate contractor-submitted modifications and recommend engineering solutions.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and project closeout activities as needed.

Mentorship & Professional Development

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and designers.
  • Review engineering work performed by others to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Support staff development, training initiatives, and knowledge sharing within the structural engineering group.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and lessons learned programs.
