The Structural Engineer III is responsible for performing complex structural engineering tasks for modular deployments in mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects, including structural steel enclosures, skidded solutions, and data center modules for Faith/Excellerate/Entech products. This role also leads concept design for prototypes and first-of-a-kind builds, while ensuring the safety, cost-effectiveness, and durability of these projects under the direct supervision of the Engineering Team Leader, Manager, or Director. The position also provides guidance to other structural engineers within the organization.
The ideal candidate must be proficient in RISA-3D, RISA-Connection, Revit, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the ability to apply principles or mechanics, mathematics, physics, material science, 3D concepts to creative problem-solving, and have working knowledge of Building Analysis and Design Software for concrete, steel, wood, plastics such as Advance Steel, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor or Master in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis
Experience: 8 or more years of experience in drawing QA/QC and Cold Formed Steel and/or Hot Rolled Steel required. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and concrete design a plus.
Holds Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering (SE preferred)
Travel: 0-25%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Mentors and provides guidance to lower level Engineers and Designers.
- Performs detailed calculations to establish construction standards and specifications.
- Prepares and evaluates technical drawings/specifications to ensure that designs/installations conform to standards & customer requirements.
- Plans layout of construction projects and Faith/Excellerate/Entech products.
- Conducts field surveys and evaluates diagrams and other data to identify and correct structural problems.
- Confers with internal and external customers to discuss existing or potential construction projects.
- Provides guidance to ensure that construction and manufacturing activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Inspects completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
- Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects.
- Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Assist in QA and QC of fabrication.
- Prepares and presents structural engineering proposals for internal and external customers.
- Assist team leader with assigning structural engineering tasks and evaluating performance and capabilities of lower level engineers.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
