ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direction of a licensed engineer and designated project leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for analysis and design of structural systems/components in steel, concrete and masonry and an integral part of design teams.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Independently perform structural engineering tasks on multiple projects.
- Interface effectively with members of the design team to coordinate structural systems with overall building design.
- Perform design calculations. Use relevant engineering software to design and document structural engineering systems.
- Identify and apply structural code knowledge to structural engineering work. Design complete structural system within established design parameters.
- Use Revit to develop BIM models for producing contract documents.
- Perform complex design calculations and limited custom detailing.
- Independently check shop drawings and calculations.
- Review and edit design specifications.
- Interface effectively with clients.
- May attend and participate in construction meetings.
- Perform field observations during construction phase requiring a physical walk through of the site. Observations may be done independently.
- May guide technicians and less experienced staff in execution of contract documents.
- May assist in defining project budget and scope.
- Must be willing to perform overtime work and travel.
- May perform other duties as required.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Minimum 4 years of related experience required.
- Current PE and/or SE in the United States required.
- LEED AP is preferred.
- Experience with concrete and steel required.
- Knowledge of IBC and other national standard codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, RAM, RISA) required.
The salary range for this position to be filled in the Buffalo, NY office is $71,502 to $89,352 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Based on the position status, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
