Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Structural Design or Project Engineer with experience in wood or concrete design to join our dynamic Vancouver-based team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Principals, receiving direct mentorship to quickly build hands-on experience in leading and delivering high-quality projects. This role also offers the opportunity to develop and explore innovative structural design ideas.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Architects and contractors to develop elegant structural solutions.
- Develop and sketch preliminary structural schematic designs.
- Prepare detailed structural designs for building components and perform design engineering calculations.
- Work with internal technical teams to enhance design processes, tools, and standards.
- Review shop drawings, conduct site visits, and produce detailed reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Canadian Building & Material Design Standards (Wood or Concrete).
- Experience working with multiple materials is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Interest in organization and planning, with a desire to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment, building strong, empowered relationships that align with common goals and objectives.
Required Training & Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering
- At least 3 years of focused experience in wood or concrete design.
- Registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
Base Salary
The estimated salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $120,000 (plus overtime pay), based on the candidate's experience and technical expertise.
