Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Take the lead on structural engineering assignments while working closely with a licensed engineer or project manager to meet project goals and deliverables.
Help prepare and review structural analysis, design, and construction documents for new structures, upgrades, retrofits, and rehabilitation projects.
Design and analyze bridges, foundations, retaining walls, and other structural systems using materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and prestressed elements, all in line with applicable codes and standards.
Develop calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, estimates, and other project deliverables while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Review existing structures and recommend strengthening, modifications, or other design updates to support new loads or changing project needs.
Share technical guidance with engineers and designers by reviewing work, offering mentorship, and supporting team growth.
Contribute to successful project delivery by helping manage schedules, quality control, documentation, and client expectations.
Take part in occasional field work, including site visits, data collection, construction support, and coordination with clients and field teams.

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bentley engineering products is preferred.
Ability to manage production tasks, maintain quality control, keep documentation organized, and meet project deadlines.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare reports and work effectively with project teams and clients.
Willingness and ability to perform field work, including light to moderate travel, climbing stairs or ladders, and working in a variety of weather conditions when needed.
Experience with TxDOT, other DOTs, industrial repair or remediation, or greenfield projects is a plus.
