The Streets & Stormwater Manager provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Streets & Stormwater Division, ensuring essential services that maintain public infrastructure and support community safety, health, and well-being.
Examples of DutiesIN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL: - Have extensive experience managing street maintenance operations, including pavement preservation, roadway repairs, concrete maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, drainage systems, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Build, lead, coach, and develop a versatile, high-performing workforce by fostering accountability, collaboration, professional development, safety, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.
- Develop strategic operational plans, establish efficient work programs, and manage complex public works projects using sound project management principles.
- Use computerized asset management, maintenance management, and work order software to support field operations, infrastructure maintenance, performance reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Have a thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ADA accessibility requirements, Arizona 811 laws, traffic control standards, and public works safety practices.
Typical QualificationREQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering or related field of study with a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in public works industry. The Town may consider an equivalent combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge and/or certifications in traffic operations and roadway infrastructure, including traffic control, traffic signal systems, pavement markings, roadway signing, street lighting, and applicable safety standards.
- Must possess a valid Class A Arizona Commercial Driver's License.
