Full Job Description
Strategy and M&A Associate

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Strategy and M&A Associate to join our team in Herndon VA. This is a hybrid position with at least 3 days a week on-site.

The Strategy and M&A Associate will leverage their strong financial background and knowledge to support the corporate growth and portfolio shaping efforts, to include executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), conducting market research, and supporting corporate development initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the corporate development process from growth strategy and pipeline maintenance through financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction close.
  • Conducting comprehensive research and analysis across financials, business operations, and competitive intelligence to screen and qualify investment markets, customers, and capabilities.
  • Serving as a key assistant project manager and contact for both internal and external constituents on strategic M&A projects.
  • Supporting Board of Directors and corporate governance requirements through public market tracking, competitor analysis, and strategic planning content creation.
  • Assisting in the preparation and evolution of debt and equity investor materials, handling logistics, and updating investor profiles as the company grows.
  • Interfacing directly with the Vice President of M&A and Strategy, senior leadership, and investor partners to help implement the company's growth strategy.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
  • 1-4 years of progressively responsible experience in investment banking, corporate development, or financial analysis.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish facts, handle multiple tasks, and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective presentation materials and express complex ideas clearly and concisely across multiple mediums.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of market intelligence products such as FactSet, NASDAQ IR Insight, BGov, FPDS, DACIS, or GovWin IQ.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience executing transactions within the government services, Federal, or national security industry sector.
  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, maintain confidentiality, and drive change throughout an organization.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and interact with senior leadership.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $68,600.00-$114,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
