Full Job Description
Role Overview

As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Combustion Systems, you will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for our combustion, engine, and powertrain components to support Harbinger's hybrid vehicle platforms. Joining a fast-paced and dynamic Supply Chain team, you will act as a true player-coach-balancing high-level sourcing strategy with the operational, day-to-day administrative details required to build a supply chain from the ground up. Your impact will be immediate, driving cost-efficiency, securing critical supplier partnerships, and ensuring our production timelines are met as we scale our revolutionary medium-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute both strategic and operational sourcing plans for various systems, managing high-level strategies while handling daily administrative procurement details.
  • Source and evaluate global suppliers, building a resilient and scalable supply base tailored to our unique hybrid powertrain requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and complex commercial terms to secure optimal value, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships and performance, resolving critical supply chain bottlenecks and driving continuous improvement.
  • Drive cross-functional project management efforts, acting as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and external partners to keep programs on track.
  • Design and build customized data trackers, KPIs, and dashboards entirely from scratch to monitor commodity performance and spend.
  • Navigate a dynamic, rapidly changing startup environment, bringing structure to chaos and adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement, ideally within automotive, commercial vehicles, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in data management and analytics, with expert-level skills in Google Sheets and advanced Excel (ability to build complex tracking models from scratch).
  • Strong understanding of supplier management, total cost of ownership (TCO), and end-to-end procurement operations.
  • Excellent negotiation, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working specifically with Engines, Electric Drive Units (EDU), or Powertrain systems.
  • Familiarity with early-stage, high-growth startup environments and a high tolerance for ambiguity and rapid scaling.
  • Proven track record of building supply chain processes and dashboards from 0 to 1.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., APICS, CPSM, PMP).

Key Benefits & Perks:
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) - 100% employee covered
  • Early-stage Stock Options
  • Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave
  • Annual Vacation Bonus
  • Wellness & Fertility Benefits
  • Cell Phone Stipend
  • Complimentary Meals & Stocked Kitchens
