Full Job Description
Position Overview:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in meeting Purchasing goals and business expectations for cost, quality, and service.

Location:

Onsite in Barberton, OH

Responsibilities/duties include:
  • Manage all aspects of cradle-to-grave contracts administration, including non-disclosure agreements, negotiating terms and conditions, overseeing contract deliverables, and ensuring compliance with U.S. government contracting flow-down requirements.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage assigned subcontracts to meet project specifications, quality standards, budgets, schedules, ensuring the timely delivery of all required subcontract deliverables.
  • Perform all Purchase Order administration tasks, including issuance, revisions, claim resolution, and discrepancy settlements.
  • Monitor open orders and provide regular status updates on a monthly basis or as required to support business operations. Implement corrective actions as required.
  • Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement lifecycle to align with government contract requirements, operational objectives, and business strategies.
  • Ensure procurement files are thoroughly documented in compliance with government-compliant purchasing system requirements and BWXT processes. Documentation should include award summaries, vendor selection justifications, sole-source justifications, price analysis methodologies, negotiation strategies, and summaries.
  • Coordinate technical and commercial communication between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure efficient order processing by subcontract suppliers.
  • Resolve open invoice issues and delivery discrepancies with internal customers and external suppliers.


Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical-related field, supply chain management, or business plus 5 years of relevant supply chain experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills. Must be able to clearly communicate with suppliers and internal technical stakeholders.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and flexible with the ability to apply sound business judgment, set priorities and de-conflict multiple demands.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.


Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Commodity experience in a manufacturing environment procuring low volume raw materials and outside processing.
  • Familiarity with Government Purchasing regulations FARS and DFARS.
  • Microsoft Excel spreadsheet capabilities along with Word and Power BI basic skills
  • SAP Purchasing functionality Requisition to Receipt processes.

Pay: $65,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
