Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for leading sourcing and procurement activities across IT Hardware, Software, Cloud Services, Information Security technologies, and related professional services. This role independently manages sourcing projects from business requirements through supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier management while delivering measurable value through cost savings, cost avoidance, risk mitigation, and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed sourcing professional who can manage multiple sourcing initiatives, develop strong stakeholder relationships, and effectively partner with Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal, and business leaders in a fast-paced technology environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management activities for Information Technology (IT), Information Security (InfoSec), Software, SaaS, Cloud Services, AI Technologies, Data Center Infrastructure, Networking, Telecommunications, Managed Services, and Professional Services.
  • Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, cybersecurity programs, and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through supplier selection, contract negotiations, implementation, and supplier governance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to IT, Information Security, Finance, Legal, and senior business leaders on sourcing strategies, supplier management, technology investments, and commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements including software licensing agreements, cloud service agreements, cybersecurity contracts, master service agreements, professional services agreements, and strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Lead executive-level supplier relationships and business reviews to drive innovation, performance improvements, risk mitigation, and commercial value.
  • Develop category/negotiation strategies using market intelligence, benchmarking, financial analysis, total cost of ownership models, and competitive sourcing techniques.
  • Drive measurable savings, cost avoidance, risk reduction, and supplier rationalization initiatives across assigned categories.
  • Monitor technology market trends, cybersecurity developments, AI adoption, cloud technologies, licensing models, and supplier ecosystems to support strategic decision-making.
  • Apply strong analytical skills and strategic vision to evaluate market trends, supplier proposals, financial impacts, and long-term business needs to develop sourcing strategies that support enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with Finance and business stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, business cases, and investment evaluations.
  • Lead supplier performance management programs, governance reviews, contract compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop executive presentations and communicate category strategies, business risks, supplier performance, and negotiation outcomes to leadership.
  • Mentor junior sourcing professionals and guide sourcing best practices, contracting strategies, and supplier management.
  • Demonstrate leadership by influencing cross-functional stakeholders, guiding supplier strategy discussions, and driving sourcing decisions that balance business priorities, risk mitigation, and long-term value.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, supplier management, or technology sourcing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex IT and Information Security sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience negotiating enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, hardware, telecommunications, infrastructure, and professional services agreements.
  • Strong contract negotiation, financial analysis, supplier management, and executive communication skills.

PREFERRED:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • CPSM, CSCP, CPM, MCIPS, PMP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in semiconductor, technology, cybersecurity, or large enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record delivering significant savings, cost avoidance, supplier risk mitigation, and strategic business value.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
