POSITION PURPOSE
Leadsstrategic sourcing activitiesforcomplexsmall tomedium initiativeswiththe ability ofachievingsignificant costreductions, supplanted with year-over-year cost and productivity improvements in the total cost of goods and servicesprocuredwhile maintaining or improving product quality and vendor service levels.Strategic sourcing activityincludesbutisnot limited to,managingseveralsimultaneouscompetitive sourcing processes, complexcontractnegotiationsof high value,andlimitingexposure to the System onhigh riskprojects.This position has responsibility for making decisions and managingriskthatimpactday-to-day operations.
This position is accountable formaintainingbusiness relationships with suppliers and Trinity's grouppurchasingorganization (GPO). The business relationships with suppliers will require negotiating terms supporting the business planobjectivesand protecting Trinity from business continuity risk, working with legal to develop contracts to memorialize terms and conditions of the trade relationship, and monitoring supplier performance and conducting business reviews. The business relationship with the GPO will requirerepresentingTrinity's interest on advisory boards, providing guidance on the GPO negotiation strategies, and supporting contract implementation across the ministry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drives system compliance byoptimizingthe use of national grouppurchasing,custom grouppurchasingandTrinity Health system agreements. Demonstrates detailed understanding of products, serviceofferingsandfinancial impact.
Conducts competitive sourcing and negotiation process on initiatives with moderate risk and value, which include but are not limited to direct and indirect supplies,servicesand equipment. Analyzes responses, reviews product/service/equipment information todetermineapplicability, performs cost benefit analyses, developsreportsand presents findings.Determinesmost favorablequotes and/or negotiates with vendors to obtainoptimalprice,termsand conditions.
Prioritizes projects for assigned commodities.Leads strategy development, manages Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP)andRequest for Quotation (RFQ) processes.Leadsanalysis andnegotiations.
Leads cross-functional teams for strategic sourcing initiatives to drive system-wide standardization, cost reductions, service and quality excellence, knowledge transfer for replication of best practice, information technology development andassistingwith local implementation of various activities.Builds stakeholder team consensus to endorse sourcing strategies.A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multifunctional teams and with RHMs in multiple geographies.
Develops,executesand communicatessourcingstrategies in collaboration with senior level management and key stakeholders on overall process, timing, andobjectives.Managesrelationships to ensure internal customers and stakeholders are actively engaged.
Promotes a lean/process excellence culture. Participates in joint quality improvement initiatives with SO and RHM colleagues. Motivates and leads strategic sourcing lean program initiatives to increase productivity andimprovingend to endprocess efficiencies.
Accountable for engaging suppliers in the selection processes andmaintainingbusiness relationships that are conducted legally, ethically andin accordance withTrinity Health Policies/Procedures and the Organizational Integrity Program.
Accountable to develop a primary liaison for key suppliers within the assigned category. Conducts business reviews with key suppliers. Serves as the subject matter expert for all category supplier engagement questions from Trinity colleagues.
Maintains business relationships with the GPO leadership andstaff. Provides input on sourcing strategy and representsTrinity onadvisory boards as assigned.
Plans,managesand oversees the life cycle of complexsmall tomedium sourcing projects. These projects involve but arenotlimited to multiplestakeholders,significant facilitation,standardizationand process change to multiple business units.
Working knowledge on contract construction and the ability to review, red line and draft language for discussion. Close workingrelationshipwithlegal for thosecontract issues requiring legal input.
Partners withFinancedepartment to ensure that forecasted savings arevalidated.
Tracks and measures supplier performance against scorecards on an ongoing basis, as applicable.Conducts supplier BusinessReviewsasnecessary.
Facilitates dialogue with localbusinessowners,RHMsenior management, andSupply Chainstaff to remove barriers when necessary.Engages suppliers andRHMsto ensuretimelyresolution of serviceissue(s).
Establishesprocedures for managinga comprehensivesourcingprocess for assignedproducts/servicesacross Trinity Health.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal,Stateand local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and proceduresin order toensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest,ethicaland professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of strategic sourcing(not limited to managing several simultaneous competitive sourcing processes and complex contract negotiations)and demonstrated ability to perform financial analysisnormally acquired through completion of aBachelor27s degree in business, finance oraclinical discipline AND 5 (five) years of relevantSupply Chainwork experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Appropriate technical certification (i.e.CQM, CPM, CPIM)desirable.
Understands Leanandtechnical problem-solving concepts and techniques.
Ability toestablishand maintain productive and positive working relationships with all stakeholders and external suppliers.
Ability to addressconflict, along with willingness and desire to challenge conventional thinking from all levels throughout theorganizationincluding senior level management.
Capability to understand customer and stakeholder businesses at the financial,operationaland business impact levels.
Ability to proactivelyidentifyandbring forthany potentialissues and formulateviablesolutions.
Strong analytical skills includingabilityto construct and execute multiple complex analyses (e.g.Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),Economic Value to Customer (EVC),Net Present Value (NPV) simultaneously.Ability to translate implications of analyses into preliminary recommendations.
Excellent organizational,planningand project managementskills.
Ability to quickly gain a fact-based understanding of current supplierbaseand major trends in relevant markets.
