Job SummaryThe Department of Neurosurgery seeks a Strategic Project Manager to partner with departmental leadership in driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and execution of high-impact initiatives. This position will lead complex projects, develop executive presentations, produce analytics and dashboards, facilitate leadership meetings, and ensure accountability for strategic priorities. The role will routinely prepare SBARs, executive summaries, Power BI/Tableau dashboards, physician scorecards, and presentations seen by senior leaders across Michigan Medicine.
This is a highly visible position working across physicians, faculty, administrators, and institutional leaders.
Responsibilities*Strategic Planning & Growth- Develop and maintain the annual departmental strategic priorities plan.
- Identify opportunities for service line growth, subspecialty expansion, and market development.
- Conduct quarterly divisional strategy reviews with documented action plans.
- Manage strategic initiatives through milestones, timelines, risks, and accountability.
- Partner with leaders to remove barriers to growth and improve access.
- Monitor referral patterns, access trends, market signals, and benchmarking.
Analytics & Executive Support- Develop Power BI and Tableau dashboards for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual monitoring.
- Produce monthly physician dashboards and executive scorecards.
- Perform advanced Excel analysis and data management.
- Create executive PowerPoint presentations, SBARs, and briefing documents.
- Coordinate divisional meetings, track action items, and monitor progress.
Required Qualifications*- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience in healthcare, academic medicine, consulting, or related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- EPIC experience
- Experience with Power BI and Tableau.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications*- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS) preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Experience with executive reporting, healthcare analytics, and strategic planning.
