Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planner to assess and optimize Perioperative Services operations within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will evaluate surgical department workflows, recommend operational improvements, develop policies and procedures, and drive initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and patient care across the perioperative continuum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess Perioperative Services operations across the surgery department.
• Recommend improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and staff training materials.
• Evaluate the utilization of surgical equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
• Assess departmental budgeting practices and operational effectiveness.
• Evaluate the complete Perioperative Services care continuum, including procedural scheduling, pre admission testing, pre operative care, intra operative care, post operative care, and Sterile Processing Department operations.
• Collaborate with leadership at headquarters, network, and facility levels to drive operational excellence.
Required Skills:
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Master's degree in Business, Management, or Nursing.
• MHS or DHA experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting or healthcare services organization.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in Perioperative Services.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
• Certification as a CNOR.
• Certification as a CAPA.
Expected Deliverables:
• Current State Analysis.
• Future State Recommendations.
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Education Requirement:
• Current RN licensure required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Business, Management, or Nursing required.
• CNOR or CAPA certification strongly preferred.
