Join us as a Strategic Commodity Manager for Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, where you will play a pivotal role in identifying, qualifying, and managing third-party companies that supply systems for Grid Technology Projects within our Siemens Energy business. Imagine developing medium- and long-term sourcing strategies, negotiating impactful contracts, and forging long-lasting partnerships with suppliers to support our energy projects. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure our procurement strategies align with project objectives, making a significant impact on our mission.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Build a robust global supply chain, driving cost competitiveness and resilience across projects while staying updated on market trends and identifying emerging suppliers that add value to Siemens Energy.
  • Establish and nurture long-term strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance standards are met and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development and negotiation of contracts to secure and successfully execute projects, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Procurement, Engineering, Quality Management, and Project Management, to align procurement strategies with project and technical requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance against contractual commitments and key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing contingency plans for critical suppliers and leading development activities when necessary.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and supplier performance issues, ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy policies and industry standards.

What You Bring
  • A University Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years professional experience in Strategic Procurement or Commodity Management, ideally combined with Project Management or Engineering experience. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level and vice versa.
  • Proven expertise in advanced negotiation concepts and state-of-the-art commodity management practices.
  • Strong communication, intercultural, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build long-term strategic relationships with suppliers and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • A curiosity to drive the digital agenda within the commodity field and procurement function.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and on occasion internationally.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
