What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Strategic Account Program Manager to support a major national strategic account within our Americas business. This is a remote position, with a preferred location in the Bentonville, AR area. In this role, you will help drive service delivery, program execution, and account growth across Security today, while identifying opportunities to expand into HVAC and Fire.

The Strategic Account Program Manager partners with a Commercial Strategic Account Manager to manage a multimillion-dollar account from pre-sales through cash flow. You will own the programmatic systems, operational coordination, and service delivery performance across multiple product lines and customer segments, helping ensure strong customer satisfaction, consistent execution, and account financial viability across the full customer value stream map.

How you will do it
  • Act as the primary support leader for execution teams on assigned strategic accounts.

  • Develop and execute account programs in line with account strategy and customer standards.

  • Manage account reporting systems to identify risks, trends, and opportunities before issues escalate.

  • Support pre-sales and post-sales activities with account managers, customers, internal operations, and cross-functional teams.

  • Monitor operational performance, SLAs, KPIs, and overall account health from pre-sales through cash flow.

  • Lead recovery planning, issue resolution, and escalation management when risks or disputes arise.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Installation Coordinators, and Service Coordinators to align resources and support delivery.

  • Support QBRs, MORs, and STAR Reviews with clear performance, financial, and operational updates.

  • Promote standardized processes, contractual compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across the account.

  • Coach and mentor team members to strengthen program management discipline and customer service execution.

  • Take ownership of outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity, ensuring the account is managed with a high standard of ethics and reliability.

  • Stay close to the work and remove obstacles for the customerby coordinating quickly across sales, operations, engineering, and service teams.

  • Use account reporting, KPI tracking, and customer review cadence to spot issues early and keep the team focused on what matters most.

  • Improve every day through candid problem-solving and continuous improvement, using lessons learned to strengthen processes and service delivery.

  • Win as one team by building trust and drawing on diverse perspectivesacross the matrix organization, including internal support teams and subcontractors.

  • Maintain consistent and repeatable procedures, while adapting recovery plans and resource allocation to protect customer satisfaction and account performance.

  • Communicate clearly and regularly with management and customers so financial status, risks, and opportunities are understood and acted on.

What we look for

  • Bachelor27s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration or equivalent.

  • Minimum Three (3) to Five (5) years of direct experience overseeing and delivering programs for high profile clients.

  • Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Must possess strong skills in presentations, reporting, and effective writing; risk management/decision making skills; and strong critical thinking skills.

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to establish and follow closed loop processes; and hold others accountable to the closed loop process.

  • Skills and experience with Program Management and Project Management software and systems.

  • Strong, tactful leadership skills are a must for this role and the ability to be open to constructive feedback in a team environment.

  • Ability to partner with cross functional teams in a matrix organization to achieve results.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred

  • Building Systems industry experience (Security Business specific) with Program Management discipline preferred.

  • PMI, PMP or other equivalent certifications desired.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000- 150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
