Full Job Description
This position is responsible for the preparation, filing, and remittance of sales and use tax returns and personal property tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely compliance across all applicable jurisdictions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Prepare and file personal property tax returns and ensure timely payment of related assessments
  • Calculate and process remittance of sales and use tax payments
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile asset listings for personal property tax reporting purposes
  • Review personal property tax assessments and notices, and assist with appeals where warranted
  • Facilitate preparation of state tax returns with external service providers to ensure timely filing
  • Collaborate proactively with other departments to ensure proper sales & use tax and asset management treatment
  • Monitor sales & use tax and personal property tax technical, legislative, and regulatory developments, and communicate relevant changes to senior leadership
  • Maintain and update taxability matrices and exemption certificates across jurisdictions
  • Respond to and manage tax notices, audits, and inquiries from taxing authorities
  • Assist in the execution of a long-term vision and strategy for the Tax function, including future build-out of the team
  • Collaborate with other internal Finance departments during monthly/quarterly closes
  • Responsible for preparation and filing of other non-income tax returns as needed and remittance of corresponding taxes
  • Provide tax support on ad hoc projects as needed
  • Perform tax research as necessary to complete assigned tasks/projects
  • Prepare monthly tax-related account reconciliations
  • Assist in development of and support to internal auditors in maintaining SOX controls
  • Proactively seek to streamline the compliance process and create efficiencies through automation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA and/or Master's in Taxation preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant tax experience, in public accounting or industry
  • Extensive, hands-on experience preparing and filing sales and use tax returns; personal property tax experience strongly preferred
  • Strong willingness to learn new things
  • Ability to identify, research, and effectively communicate resolutions on tax issues
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel, less than 10%
  • Experience working in various ERP tools
  • Detail-oriented and willing to roll up sleeves
