Job DescriptionInspire, excel and grow with us U.S. Bank is hiring in our Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) department for a Standby Letter of Credit Advisor.
The Standby Letter of Credit Advisor serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on structuring requests, reviewing legal documentation, and delivering a high level of customer service through clear, professional communication with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide expert guidance on the structuring of complex standby letter of credit transactions, including issuance, amendments, and risk considerations
- Review and interpret credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, and related legal documentation to ensure alignment with SBLC terms and bank risk standards
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Legal, and Credit teams to advise on deal structure and support successful transaction execution
- Deliver best-in-class customer service by clearly explaining requirements, setting expectations, and guiding partners through the standby LC process
- Communicate effectively and confidently, particularly in verbal discussion involving complex or sensitive client scenarios
- Serve as a key resource for complex or non-standard requests, providing recommendation and solutions while ensuring adherence to policy
- Support onboarding of complex or sensitive clients by partnering with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Credit teams to advise on documentation, structure, and set up requirements

Basic Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Eight or more years of relevant work experience
Preferred Skills/Experience- Extensive experience in standby letters of credit, with strong expertise in complex deal structuring
- Strong knowledge of standby letter of credit rules, including ISP98 and UCP600
- Deep understanding of credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, and related legal documentation
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer service in a fast paced, client focused environment
- Strong risk awareness and ability to provide sound recommendations in complex or time sensitive situations
- Ability to influence and guide partners without direct authority
Location ExpectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
