Standards Engineer III for NorthWind Technical Services LLC to report to our Sabetha, KS HQ loc but working at multiple unanticipated locs in USA. JOB SUMMARY: Research, develop, implement, teach & maintain software automation standards & best practices to ensure compliance, safety, & quality across projects. Ensure that standard programs & processes are maintained in a highly regulated & process-driven manner. JOB DUTIES: Standards development: Assist in creation & revision of software automation engineering standards, templates, & procedures; ensure alignment w/ industry best practices & regulatory requirements. Project development: create & revise software automation engineering applications; use software automation engineering standards to write PLC, HMI, & computer programs; test to validate proper functionality; provide feedback to the standards team based on results from use of team's standards & templates. Compliance monitoring: monitor adherence to established standards & evaluate effectiveness of implementation across projects. Technical support: provide technical support to project teams, address queries & offer solutions related to standards & compliance issues. Documentation: prep & maintain comprehensive documentation related to standards, templates, processes, & compliance activities. Training & Development: create training materials & conduct training sessions to educate staff on standards, best practices, & compliance requirements. Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement & contribute to development of innovative solutions to enhance standards & practices. Occasional OT, weekend/holiday work to meet customer project commitments. May undergo background checks incl drug screen & motor vehicle record check. Must complete NorthWind Tier B Electrical safety training post-hire (training recurs annually). Little national travel may be involved to visit customer sites or for training. Travel not exceeding 60 days/year; length of single trip not exceeding 5-10 days. Must have Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer) or other rel field; 4 years relevant software automation development experience; and required skills (3 years exp) in: programming and development following ISA-101 standards; Ladder Logic programming; and (1 year exp) in: field experience in controls and automation. Also requires Certifications: Rockwell Automation, Ignition Gold.
