Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

We are seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to provide technical guidance across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). This role is responsible for ensuring horizontal and vertical integration of requirements and design, establishing and refining systems engineering processes, leading Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events, and managing key technical metrics and allocations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with multidiscipline IPTs to ensure horizontal and vertical integration of system requirements, architecture, and design.
  • Refine, document, and implement systems engineering processes across the program.
  • Host and coordinate SETR events (e.g., SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR), including planning, execution, and action closure.
  • Define, track, and analyze Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage requirements allocations from system to subsystem/component level, ensuring traceability and consistency.
  • Perform architecture reviews, assessing completeness, feasibility, and interface consistency; recommend design updates and trades.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline with 12 years of related experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of related experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
  • Experience in systems integration, including leading multi-disciplinary efforts and institutionalizing systems engineering processes.
  • Experience leading major technical reviews and presenting to senior internal and customer leadership.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven communication skills with Technical Subject Matter Experts, Senior Program Leadership, and Customers.
  • Experience with TPM development and management.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements and architecture tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody or similar).
  • Prior lead systems integrator experience on complex aerospace/defense programs.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and relationships to program milestones and artifacts

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
