DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a
Staff Systems Modeling / Simulation & Analysis Engineer (MS&A). This position is located in
Huntsville, Alabama or
Roy, Utah.This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Lead development and integration of physics-based predictive models and simulation frameworks for cruise-missile accuracy performance
- Conduct maturation, validation, and verification of accuracy error models using ground- and flight-test data
- Perform post-flight estimation and analysis of missile accuracy, producing technical reports and executive-level presentations
- Interface with external partner teams to ensure timely delivery of analysis data required for CDRLs and support the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Develop and trace requirements for modeling, simulation, and analysis tools; manage change-request and Engineering Review Board (ERB) processes
- Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and schedule variance analysis for MS&A activities
- Mentor and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Implement agile development practices using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) to manage tasks and deliverables
- Establish and maintain a secure laboratory environment for classified work, ensuring compliance with DoD security requirements
- Advise senior leadership and customers on mission-effectiveness trade-studies and recommend alternative architecture solutions
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related experience; 10 years of experience with a Master of Science degree; 8 year experience with a PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Demonstrated experience with physics-based mathematical modeling and simulation
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++/C#, SQL, MATLAB, R) with at least five years of hands-on experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance
- Outstanding skills in building rapport and interfacing with external team partners and customers
- Proactive self-starter capable of identifying process gaps and implementing effective solutions
- Experience developing and tracing complex requirements, managing change requests, and participating in Engineering Review Board processes
- Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management, Integrated Master Schedule reporting, and agile methodologies using Jira/Confluence

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
