Staff Systems Engineer to join their team!

Systems Staff Engineer leads system-level engineering for customer applications, working closely with leadership, sales, engineering teams, suppliers, and customers. This role supports major multi-site projects built around our client's core technologies: Motion, Control, Power, and Lightweighting.
Responsibilities: - Lead complex system design & analysis across electrical, mechanical, software, actuation, and composite technologies.
- Define system architecture from customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Manage requirements, including subsystem definitions, derived requirements, tolerances, and traceability.
- Use modeling and simulation to verify performance, reliability, safety, and risk mitigation.
- Create and manage test plans, procedures, fixtures, and tooling globally.
- Perform subsystem testing and support integration into customer vehicles or applications.
- Evaluate new and modified product designs to ensure performance meets specifications.
- Present technical information to support strategic, multi-site planning.
- Review and critique design work from others and promote best practices.
- Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams on requirements, project updates, and test results.
- Contribute to standard process and procedure development.
- Mentor engineers at various levels.
- Serve as a technology expert and help guide innovation for products and processes.
- Support proposals, including technical definitions, diagrams, and compliance documentation.
- Operate with a high degree of independence; only major deliverables require senior review.
- Work across multiple projects and locations simultaneously.
- Some limited travel may be required (20% typical)

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering + 11 years' experience, or Master's degree + 9 years' experience.
- Experience with actuation systems (motors, gearing, ball screws, electronics, software).
- Extensive experience using MATLAB and Simscape for dynamic, thermal, and power-flow analysis.
- Knowledge of composites/lightweighting preferred.
- Experience with military/defense programs or government contracting preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret and develop technical instructions, diagrams, and abstract concepts.
- Proven technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines.
