Full Job Description
BCubed Engineering, an Auria company, is looking to hire a Staff Systems Engineer for our Stoic Warrior program. This position is hybrid with up to four days per week on site. The Staff Systems Engineer will be to lead all System Engineering activities for the project.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Lead systems engineering activities to define and document mission-focused software systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine mission needs, operational scenarios, and system performance objectives.
  • Translate mission needs and operational constraints into system requirements and functional architectures.
  • Develop system architectures, interface definitions, data flows, and technical models to support design and decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) packages.
  • Work closely with software development teams to ensure system-level requirements are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify system risks and dependencies; drive coordinated mitigation actions.
  • Support system integration, testing, and verification while engaging with customers to ensure mission readiness and validated performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate capabilities into the system architecture, considering both technical and operational aspects, and align delivery plans with project milestones.


WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years experience in systems engineering for complex software or mission-critical systems.
  • Experience leading system definition, architecture development, and technical baseline assessments.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements development, interface definition, verification/validation, and configuration management.
  • Hands-on experience preparing and executing major technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). Familiarity with SATCOM architectures, mission operations, and tasking workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with customers, present technical material, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (current SSBI) - required.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph
  • Experience working with Agile software development teams and modern DevSecOps environments.
  • Relevant DoD 8570/8140 Cybersecurity Certification, e.g. CompTIA Security+


PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $130,000 - $180,000.
