Staff, Supply Chain Specialist - Technology and Indirect Procurement is a strategic role responsible for leading and executing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across technology and Indirect spend categories, supporting stakeholders including IT, Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Admin & Facilities, Land and other business functions. This role serves as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Legal, business stakeholders, and suppliers to align procurement activities with organizational goals, deliver cost efficiencies, and mitigate risk.
They will proactively manage vendor relationships, lead negotiations, and support contract lifecycle management. They will also partner with stakeholders to identify sourcing and value-creation opportunities, optimize commercial outcomes, and develop strategies that maximize performance across the technology and indirect portfolios.
The Staff, Supply Chain Specialist - Technology and Indirect Procurement will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement- Execute a multi-year Technology Procurement Roadmap aligned with IT strategy and business objectives
- Partner with IT and Indirect business units to support procurement planning activities, including upcoming sourcing events, contract renewals, budget planning, and supplier evaluations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate sourcing options, and develop recommendations that balance cost, risk, quality, and service objectives
- Conduct market assessments and supplier research to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and enhanced supplier performance
- Facilitate business case development and procurement recommendations for technology investments, professional services, facilities support, land-related services, and other indirect spend requirements
Sourcing & Negotiation- Lead sourcing efforts and negotiations for technology and indirect purchases, renewals, and subscriptions
- Develop and execute cost reduction and avoidance strategies while securing optimal commercial and contractual terms
- Establish negotiation goals and track performance against value realization targets
Contract Lifecycle Management- Oversee contract lifecycle from initiation through execution, including coordination with Legal for reviews and redlines
- Ensure contracts comply with internal policies, mitigate risks, and support long-term supplier performance
- Maintain visibility into contractual obligations and provide actionable summaries to business owners
- Track contract renewal and termination dates and partner with stakeholders to facilitate renewal planning, competitive sourcing activities, and supplier contract actions as appropriate
- Identify and mitigate risk in technology-related contracts (Data Privacy, Machine Learning, AI, SLA's, Ownership of Data, etc.)
Supplier Relationship Management- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business needs and performance expectations
- Support IT and Indirect stakeholders in identifying overlapping services, rationalizing vendors, and optimizing spend
- Lead supplier performance reviews and develop metrics to assess value delivery
Governance & Reporting- Provide regular updates to the Technology Steering Committee, supported business units' leadership, and Supply Chain leadership on procurement activities, risks, and opportunities
- Track and report on realized savings, contract milestones, and sourcing pipeline
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and procurement innovations to identify strategic sourcing opportunities
Qualifications/ Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 14 years' experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management with a minimum of 5 years' experience in indirect spend and technology (software, hardware, data subscriptions)
- Strong contract negotiation and management skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement tools
The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired/ Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related technical field
- Experience with SAP, Ariba, and Icertis
- Deep understanding of licensing models, SaaS agreements, and subscription-based services
- Proven ability to develop and execute cost-saving strategies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
