The Role This is a highly visible technical leadership opportunity for an experienced identity security professional who wants to do more than maintain existing systems. You will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, partnering with technology leaders across the organization to design and implement next-generation identity and privileged access solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and advancement of UVA Health's enterprise Privileged Access Management (PAM) program.
- Implement controls focused on just-in-time access, privileged credential protection, session monitoring, and elevated access governance.
- Guide enterprise security initiatives involving Microsoft Entra, Entra PIM, Active Directory, Defender for Identity, BloodHound , and related identity technologies.
- Oversee implementation of a new Active Directory forest backup and disaster recovery solution to strengthen resilience and recovery capabilities.
- Support identity verification engineering initiatives and future identity modernization projects.
- Provide expert guidance on identity governance, access controls, attack path reduction, and security best practices.
- Lead or coordinate security-focused projects while influencing technical strategy and architectural decisions.
- Partner with stakeholders across UVA Health to deploy innovative security solutions that improve organizational risk posture.
This position offers a blend of solution architecture, cybersecurity strategy, project leadership, and hands-on technical expertise in a collaborative environment where your recommendations directly shape enterprise outcomes.
Work Arrangement: This position offers a predominantly remote work environment with flexibility, while requiring occasional onsite presence for key infrastructure deployments, strategic projects, and collaborative enterprise initiatives.

Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Experience: 7 years.

The pay range for this role is $102,851.00 - $205,703.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
