Full Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, front-end-strong full-stack engineer to own the clinical reporting experience at the heart of our imaging platform. This is a high-impact individual contributor role - you will be the primary engineer driving the reporting UI and clinical workflow that cardiologists and radiologists use to review, finalize, and deliver results. Our engineering team skews backend-heavy, which means there is significant frontend work ahead and real ownership available for the right person. You will work directly with clinical stakeholders - cardiologists, radiologists, and Core Lab teams - to shape workflows that directly impact patient care. The ideal candidate is a strong React/TypeScript engineer who is comfortable with backend API integration, has built clinician-facing interfaces before, and is genuinely excited about doing the detailed, grinding work of getting clinical UIs right. What You'll Own Clinical Reporting UI • Own the end-to-end reporting experience - the interface cardiologists and radiologists use to review cases, finalize results, and sign off on reports • Build a web-based results summary displaying case status, key measurements, exceptions, and data provenance across Cleerly and integrated third-party applications • Design and implement clear, high-usability clinical interfaces that handle complex multi-source data with strong information hierarchy Workflow Integration • Implement secure viewer launch flows - opening the Cleerly viewer, embedded HTML5 components, or external viewers via deep-link or SDK integration • Partner with Backend, Viewer, and CoreLab teams to ensure the full workflow reliably supports case gating, edits, final sign-off, and write-back to PACS/EHR • Integrate with third-party reporting engines and dictation tools (e.g., Nuance, M*Modal) as needed Backend and API Integration • Consume and shape REST APIs, manage pagination and filtering, and ensure audit-safe data handling across the reporting surface • Work with FHIR/HL7 standards for structured reporting outputs and EHR write-back • Contribute to backend services as needed to support the reporting platform What We're Looking For Required: • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrable frontend depth • Strong React and TypeScript - this is your primary toolkit and you are genuinely comfortable owning a complex clinical UI in it • Experience building clinician-facing interfaces - radiology, cardiology, clinical workflow, or similar regulated environments • Solid backend/API integration skills - you can consume and shape APIs, handle edge cases, and reason about data integrity • Working knowledge of at least one healthcare interoperability standard (FHIR or HL7 v2) • Strong testing discipline - rigorous handling of edge cases, error states, partial results, and latency in clinical UIs • Ability to operate in a regulated environment - requirements traceability, change impact analysis, validation support • Direct experience collaborating with clinical stakeholders to define and refine workflows Nice to Have: • DICOM-SR, SEG, or Presentation State familiarity - structured reporting, segmentation, or image overlay concepts • Experience embedding or launching medical viewers (OHIF/Cornerstone, HTML5 viewers, iframes) using secure messaging protocols • Java and Spring framework experience • Prior integration with commercial reporting or dictation tools (Nuance, M*Modal) • DICOM protocol knowledge (C-STORE, C-FIND, DICOMweb) Why This Role This is not a role for someone who wants to delegate the frontend work. Our team needs someone who is excited to get into the details - pixel-level UI decisions, clinical edge cases, the nuance of how a cardiologist actually reads a report - and who takes pride in getting that layer right. If you've built clinical workflow UIs before and want real ownership of a product used directly in patient care, this is the role. The base salary range for this role varies by location and is aligned to market benchmarks. • Candidates located in higher-cost labor markets, including California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC represent the middle to high end of the range, while candidates located in all other U.S. locations represent the low to middle end of the range. • Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity. This role is eligible for a 15% target annual bonus, resulting in the following base salary and Total Target Compensation (TTC) ranges: • Base Salary: $175,000 - $201,000 • TTC: $200,000 - $231,000 *Total Target Compensation (TTC): Total Cash Compensation (including base pay, variable pay, commission, bonuses, etc.) Additionally, stock options, paid benefits, and employee perks are part of your total rewards. About Cleerly

Clearly is an online retailer of contact lenses, eyeglasses and sunglasses. The company was acquired by EssilorLuxottica Canada, and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. They are one of the largest online contact lens retailers in North America, and the largest seller of prescription eyeglasses online in the world. Founded in 2000 as Coastal Contacts by Roger Hardy and his sister Michaela Hardy, who bought the keyword "contact lens" from AltaVista, which meant that all searches for "contact lens" were accompanied with Coastal Contacts' banner ads. In the first day, they had 30 orders; within the first month, they had $68,000 in sales. In addition to their lower pricing, the firm provided same day fulfillment of online orders. In 2004, Coastal Contacts raised $6 million in an initial public offering, which they used to expand into the United Kingdom and parts of Europe. In late 2004, they acquired a mail order contact lens business in Europe, LensWay. In 2006, they acquired two more companies: one in the Netherlands and one in Japan. By 2009, the firm increased their revenue to $140 million. They moved into the eyeglasses market in 2008. They source parts for eyeglasses from independent manufactures across the globe, but maintains control over final assembly.
