About the Role

We are seeking a research scientist to join our print development organization, a collaborative team that enjoys a positive, supportive work environment and group social events. In this role, you will work between the hardware and materials organizations to plan and run research projects focused on improving our patented 3D printing processes. The ideal candidate will design lab experiments to explore how printing and processing conditions impact how parts perform, while collaborating with partners to help scale these processes to larger production volumes. This position perfectly combines hands-on laboratory work with clear communication, requiring you to write up your results and share findings with our broader team of engineers and scientists.

This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA and requires being onsite Mon - Friday. This role is not eligible for relocation. This role is not eligible for current Visa sponsorship.

You will...
  • Work at the interface of print development and materials development to understand and improve Carbon's additive manufacturing process.

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining salary. The compensation bracket for this position is $137,600 - $206,400 (per year). In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $172,000 taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Sunnyvale office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
