By modernizing and simplifying biomedical data analysis, Workbench facilitates safe collaboration and helps our partners accelerate R&D and reduce the time to market for critical therapies.

As a Staff Product Manager for Workbench Foundations, you'll be the driving force behind the platform's operational excellence, financial health, and user enablement. You will own the strategy for product observability, manage complex cloud and AI financial operations (FinOps), and lead our end-user support and documentation ecosystems, ensuring researchers can scale their work securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Product Observability & Telemetry: Define and execute a comprehensive observability strategy. Establish, track, and report on core product metrics for user engagement, platform adoption, and feature-level utilization to drive data-informed roadmap decisions.
  • Lead Financial Management & FinOps: Own the financial health of the Workbench platform on behalf of customers. Manage customer budgets, forecast platform spend, and optimize costs associated with multi-cloud infrastructure, AI model training/inference, and other technical operations.
  • Champion End-User Support & Enablement: Oversee the end-user support experience. Manage and optimize the suite of support tools, technical documentation, and self-serve content ecosystems that empower researchers, data stewards, and administrators to succeed on the platform.
  • Partner with Engineering: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, data analysts, and designers to build robust telemetry pipelines, implement cost-tracking dashboards, and seamlessly integrate support and documentation tools directly into the user workflow.
  • Influence Across Teams: Lead cross-organizational efforts and build consensus among stakeholders across finance, engineering, customer success, and clinical informatics to ensure a unified approach to platform sustainability and user satisfaction.

  • Proven track record of defining, instrumenting, and analyzing product telemetry. Hands-on experience with product analytics and BI tools (e.g., Pendo, Looker,...) to measure feature adoption and user engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep experience and understanding of advanced features of cloud computing environments including GCP, AWS, NVIDIA Cloud, and Azure.
  • Experience in the life sciences, healthcare technology, bioinformatics, or working with Trusted Research Environments (TREs).
  • Deep understanding of the operational cost structures associated with Cloud and AI/ML, including model training, fine-tuning, inference costs, and token-based billing models.
