OverviewLMI is seeking a Staff Product Designer to shape data-driven applications supporting a U.S. Army technology modernization program. This designer will work directly with Army users and engineering teams to turn complex acquisition and program workflows into clear, effective digital products.
The Staff Product Designer will own the experience from discovery through production delivery rather than operating as a requirements handoff function.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous product discovery with Army users and stakeholders.
- Translate mission workflows into product concepts, user journeys, prototypes, and interface designs.
- Validate designs through user research, usability testing, and direct feedback.
- Partner with software engineers and data engineers throughout design and implementation.
- Shape product priorities by connecting user needs, technical constraints, and mission outcomes.
- Establish reusable design patterns and maintain consistency across applications.
- Represent the user experience in product and technical decisions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Seven or more years of experience in product design, user-experience design, or human-centered design.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex digital products from discovery through production delivery.
- Strong experience with user research, workflow design, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Experience designing data-intensive applications or operational workflows.
- Experience working closely with software-development teams.
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant product-design work.
- Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer.
- Active Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the U.S. Army.
- Experience designing applications within Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or a comparable enterprise platform.
- Familiarity with Army acquisition or program-management processes.
- Proficiency with Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools.
- Experience building or maintaining a design system.
- Familiarity with accessibility and secure government environments.
The target salary range for this position is $111,301 - $192,653.79.

Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
