Role SummaryIn this position, you will work on the high-voltage power electronics product design at Carson, CA. The role will identify and analyze issues and develop solutions to complex engineering issues. This position will sit out of our Carson, CA, location, and report to the Principal Power Electronics Engineer.
Responsibilities- Join a highly capable team to design industry-leading power electronic conversion units
- The Power Electronics Engineer will evaluate and validate the subcomponents for the traction power inverters
- Support characterization and test activities under the direction of senior engineers
- Design a circuit card for the traction power inverter
- Test traction inverters in the lab, dyno, and vehicle
- Analyze circuits using Spice, Mathcad, PLECS, and other tools
- Debug issues and solve problems when they arise
Qualifications- Minimum BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (MS or advanced degree preferred)
- 7+ years' experience preferred, working with power electronics
- Expertise in power electronics circuits and concepts
- Knowledge of power electronics topologies
- Understanding of the key components: power semiconductors, inductors, transformers, capacitors
- Ability to design the schematic and layout of the controller and gate driver circuits for the traction power inverter.
- Experience in power device characterization, simulation, and testing.
- Comfortable working with high voltages and currents
- Experience using software tools such as Spice, Mathcad, and Matlab
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is USD 154,000-192,500 for Southern California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
