Key Responsibilities- Define and drive Vultr's platform automation philosophy, establishing standards for infrastructure automation, developer tooling, and self-service capabilities
- Design and evolve platform architecture, setting patterns for integration, extensibility, abstraction layers, and long-term maintainability
- Architect and deliver self-service solutions that enable engineering teams to move faster with less operational overhead
- Solve organization-wide platform challenges with systems thinking and architectural rigor
- Anticipate scaling, reliability, and usability needs before they become incidents - design forward-looking solutions, not reactive patches
- Drive platform adoption through documentation, training, and cross-team communication
- Partner with product, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure platform capabilities align with business objectives and engineering needs
Qualifications- Expert-level experience in PHP, plus strong proficiency in Go or Python
- Deep Linux systems experience, including administration, automation, and infrastructure management at scale
- Proven track record architecting and operating self-service platform solutions for engineering teams
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines
- Leadership experience influencing and mentoring engineers - shaping technical direction and culture without direct authority
Compensation$145,000 - $160,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
